Not just our pastors and ministry leaders but our government leaders as well. And you are right, when our pastors make hiring mistakes there is so much more at stake. A really bad hire take can cause irreparable damage to the entire church. I've been around a long time and I have seen people leave a church because of poor staffing decisions. It's so easy for me to "forget" that my minister must also be a "leader" and make important staffing decisions - so I must assume that it's equally "easy" for others to forget this important aspect of building a ministry as well. However, when I make "hiring mistakes" in my secular business - I lose money. When a minister makes "hiring mistakes" there's a lot more at stake!!! Thanks for reminding me that ministry is just another term for “a God based business”.

It’s so easy for me to “forget” that my minister must also be a “leader” and make important staffing decisions – so I must assume that it’s equally “easy” for others to forget this important aspect of building a ministry as well.
