Hi, I’m Valerie Johnson. I’m thrilled that you have found Your Ministry Helper.
This site has been a dream of mine for quite some time. I purchased the domain name in 2004 but wasn’t sure how I wanted to use it. My passion in ministry is administration, event planning and hospitality. During my years as a Pastor’s Personal Assistant, I accompanied him when he traveled for speaking engagements. I learned quite a bit from the different ministries we visited. I learned some positive things to do and other things not to do. Often, the good experiences at other churches were adapted to improve some things at our home church.
During my tenure as a Ministry Administrator and the Pastor’s Personal Assistant, our church membership grew from 40 members to over 2,000 members. Part of my experience includes handling the day to day operations of ministry.
In the beginning I considered a web site but was undecided about how to build it. However, my purpose for the site remains the same – to offer ministry tips and solutions for new and start-up ministries. I recently decided that a blog was a good fit for this topic.
